Epifanes Rubbed Effect Varnish

Premium Interior Satin Varnish for a Warm, Traditional Finish

Epifanes Rubbed Effect Varnish is a high-quality, one-component interior finish formulated with urethane–alkyd resins to deliver a warm, elegant satin sheen and long-lasting protection. Quick drying, scratch resistant and exceptionally clear, it cures to a transparent amber tone that enhances the natural beauty of the timber without the high-gloss appearance of traditional varnish.

Developed specifically for interior woodwork, this satin varnish provides outstanding resistance against alcohol, moisture and aggressive household chemicals, making it ideal for high-use areas, furniture, cabinetry and refined decorative timber elements.

For best results, Rubbed Effect Varnish is applied as the final satin topcoat over several build-up coats of Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish or Epifanes Woodfinish Gloss. The gloss layers provide grain filling, film depth and UV protection, while the satin topcoat achieves the classic rubbed-effect finish.

Field of Use
  • Interior joinery, furniture, cabinetry and decorative woodwork

  • Satin finishing coat over gloss build-up layers

  • Maintenance coat for intact interior varnish systems

  • Suitable for virtually all varnish types when used as the final satin layer

  • On bare wood: always begin with several gloss build-up coats to ensure grain filling and UV protection
