Epifanes RapidCoat & RapidClear

Fast-Drying UV-Resistant Semi-Gloss Wood Finishes

Epifanes RapidCoat and RapidClear are quick-drying, UV-resistant semi-gloss wood finishes formulated with modified alkyd/urethane resins to offer a fast, easy alternative to traditional multi-coat varnish systems. Designed for long-term protection and enhancement of all marine and household timbers above the waterline, these finishes provide outstanding adhesion—especially on teak and other oily woods—while highlighting the natural grain and character of the substrate.

Engineered for efficiency, both products deliver excellent breathing properties, flexibility, and long-lasting durability. They can be used as standalone systems for rapid build and protection, or as quick-drying base coats prior to finishing with Epifanes Clear Varnish or Epifanes Woodfinish Gloss/Matte.

Sanding between coats is not required when recoating within 72 hours, significantly reducing application time.

Epifanes RapidClear

Transparent Semi-Gloss UV Wood Finish

Epifanes RapidClear delivers the same fast-drying convenience as RapidCoat but in a transparent amber tone. It enhances the natural wood grain without adding pigment, making it ideal for projects where the original timber colour is preferred.

Field of Use
  • Quick-drying build-up or finishing system for all interior and exterior marine and household woods above the waterline
  • Suitable for interior and exterior timber components, trims, joinery and furniture
  • RapidCoat (teak-pigmented) can be used as a quick-drying primer coat before Epifanes Clear Varnish or Epifanes Woodfinish Gloss (sand with P220)
  • Ideal for maintenance of intact one- and two-component varnish systems, regardless of brand
  • Excellent adhesion on teak and other oily hardwoods
  • Suitable for restoration work, colour correction (RapidCoat), and natural grain enhancement (RapidClear)
