TECHNIGLUE R28 structural epoxy adhesive cartridge

R28 — Toughened Epoxy Cartridge Adhesive

TECHNIGLUE® R28 is a high-strength structural epoxy adhesive engineered for composite, marine and industrial bonding applications. The toughened, thixotropic formulation provides reliable structural bonding with excellent gap-filling capability and strong adhesion to composites, metals and timber.

Techniglue R28 is specifically designed for demanding fabrication environments where durable structural performance and consistent application are required.

Supplied in a convenient 2:1 self-mixing cartridge, R28 ensures fast, consistent dispensing with no manual measuring. The colour-change indicator (yellow resin + black hardener → uniform black) confirms correct mixing and provides a clean aesthetic finish on carbon composites.

R28 is widely used across marine, defence, aerospace, industrial, architectural, and automotive applications.

Toughened Epoxy Adhesive Performance

TECHNIGLUE® R28 Structural Epoxy Adhesive is engineered to deliver balanced mechanical performance for structural bonding applications including:

  • High shear strength for structural load transfer
  • Excellent resistance to micro-cracking
  • Improved durability under vibration and cyclic loads
  • Reliable adhesion across composite and metallic substrates

This positions the adhesive as structural engineering material, not just a workshop adhesive.

The toughened epoxy formulation helps maintain bondline integrity in dynamic structures subjected to vibration, thermal expansion and cyclic loading.

This combination of strength, toughness and peel resistance makes R28 suitable for structural bonding applications where durability and safety are critical.

Structural Epoxy Adhesive

TECHNIGLUE® R28 provides a toughened epoxy adhesive solution for structural bonding applications where peel resistance, toughness and long-term durability are critical.

The toughened epoxy formulation of TECHNIGLUE® R28 delivers high peel resistance and structural durability, helping prevent adhesive joint failure in demanding composite applications.

Designed for composite manufacturing environments, R28 delivers reliable structural bonding performance across a wide range of materials including carbon fibre, fibreglass, metals and timber.

High Peel Resistance for Structural Bonding

TECHNIGLUE® R28 is formulated as a toughened epoxy adhesive designed to resist peel and cleavage stresses, which are common failure modes in bonded composite structures.

The toughened chemistry improves bondline durability by absorbing stress within the adhesive layer, reducing the risk of crack propagation and maintaining structural integrity over time.

This provides:

  • Improved peel resistance
  • Enhanced fatigue durability
  • Reduced micro-cracking in bonded assemblies
  • Reliable structural load transfer
KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Typical Applications

TECHNIGLUE® R28 structural epoxy adhesive is widely used in demanding composite and industrial bonding applications including:

  • Composite panel bonding
  • Marine structural assembly
  • Carbon fibre and fibreglass structures
  • Aluminium and metal bonding
  • Structural repair and reinforcement

The thixotropic adhesive formulation allows excellent hold-up on vertical surfaces and gap filling of uneven bonding areas, making it suitable for structural assemblies and repair work.

Multi-Material Structural Bonding

TECHNIGLUE® R28 structural epoxy adhesive provides strong adhesion to a wide range of substrates including:

  • Fibreglass and carbon fibre composites

  • Aluminium and metals

  • Timber and engineered wood

  • Composite sandwich panels

  • Mixed-material assemblies

This versatility makes the adhesive suitable for marine, industrial, architectural and transport applications where different materials must be bonded reliably.

Cartridge Application System

TECHNIGLUE® R28 is supplied in a convenient 2:1 cartridge system designed to ensure correct mix ratios and consistent application.

The cartridge format improves productivity in workshop and field environments by:

  • eliminating manual mixing errors

  • reducing material waste

  • improving application control

  • enabling fast structural bonding repairs

High Peel Resistance

TECHNIGLUE® R28 is formulated as a toughened structural epoxy adhesive designed to resist peel and cleavage stresses, which are common failure modes in bonded composite structures.

Unlike brittle adhesives that can crack under dynamic loading, R28 maintains bond integrity by absorbing stresses across the adhesive joint. This improved toughness provides:

  • High peel resistance in bonded assemblies

  • Improved fatigue durability under cyclic loading

  • Reduced risk of micro-cracking in composite structures

  • Reliable performance in mixed-material joints

These characteristics are critical for marine, transport and industrial composite structures where adhesive joints must withstand vibration, thermal expansion and long-term structural loads.
