R15 — Toughened Structural Epoxy Adhesive Paste

High-strength structural epoxy adhesive paste engineered for bonding metals, composites and engineered substrates.

TECHNIGLUE® R15 is a toughened, solvent-free structural epoxy adhesive designed for high-strength bonding of metals, composites and engineered substrates. The thixotropic formulation provides excellent gap-filling capability while allowing precise application on vertical or uneven surfaces without sagging.

Curing at room temperature with H15 hardeners, R15 delivers exceptional adhesion to aluminium, steel, fibreglass, carbon fibre and a wide range of engineering materials. The formulation was specifically developed to overcome peeling failure at the metal–resin interface, dramatically increasing peel strength while maintaining excellent tensile and compressive performance.

With high mechanical strength and strong chemical resistance, TECHNIGLUE® R15 structural epoxy adhesive is widely used across marine, industrial, aerospace, defence and architectural applications where reliable structural bonding is essential.

Its toughened epoxy chemistry ensures long-term durability under load, vibration and environmental exposure, making R15 an ideal adhesive for composite fabrication and metal bonding applications requiring consistent bondline performance.

Toughened Epoxy Adhesive Performance

TECHNIGLUE® R15 is engineered for demanding structural bonding applications where strength, durability and reliability are critical. Its toughened epoxy chemistry provides excellent resistance to fatigue, impact and environmental exposure, ensuring long-term bond integrity in both metal and composite assemblies.

R15 is particularly effective for metal-to-metal and composite-to-metal bonding, where conventional epoxy adhesives may fail due to peel stress at the bond interface.

The thixotropic paste formulation allows controlled application while maintaining consistent bondline thickness and excellent gap-filling capability. This makes TECHNIGLUE® R15 particularly effective for bonding uneven surfaces, vertical joints and complex structural components commonly found in marine, industrial and advanced composite manufacturing.

KEY PERFOMANCE FEATURES

WHAT IS A STRUCTURAL EPOXY PASTE ADHESIVE?

Structural epoxy paste adhesives are high-performance two-part systems designed to bond components subjected to mechanical load, vibration and environmental exposure.

Unlike liquid laminating resins, paste adhesives are formulated with thixotropic fillers and toughening agents that allow the adhesive to maintain thickness in the bondline while bridging gaps between uneven surfaces.

This enables reliable structural bonding in applications such as:

  • Composite components

  • Aluminium and steel structures

  • Hybrid composite–metal assemblies

  • Engineered industrial materials

Once cured, these adhesives form high-strength thermoset bonds with excellent durability, fatigue resistance and chemical stability.

Typical Applications

TECHNIGLUE® R15 structural epoxy adhesive is widely used in applications requiring high-strength bonding between metals and composite materials. Its toughened, gap-filling formulation makes it ideal for structural assemblies exposed to mechanical load, vibration and harsh environmental conditions across marine, industrial and advanced manufacturing sectors.

  • Composite-to-metal bonding
  • Marine hull and deck structures

  • Structural aluminium assemblies

  • Industrial equipment fabrication

  • Aerospace and defence components

TECHNIGLUE R15 bonds aluminium, steel, fibreglass, carbon fibre and many engineered materials, making it suitable for structural composite fabrication and metal assemblies.

HOW TECHNIGLUE® R15 COMPARES TO SYSTEMS LIKE SPABOND®

Structural epoxy adhesives such as Spabond® 445 are widely used in composite manufacturing due to their toughened chemistry, gap-filling capability and ability to bond large structural assemblies. These systems are typically supplied in cartridge or bulk resin formats and are designed for bonding composite structures where thick bondlines and uneven surfaces must be accommodated.

TECHNIGLUE® R15 provides a superior structural bonding solution, offering exceptional peel strength, excellent adhesion to both metal and composite substrates, and consistent bondline performance across a wide range of structural applications. Its toughened chemistry and thixotropic paste formulation ensure reliable structural bonding where durability, strength and long-term performance are critical.
