Epifanes PP Varnish Extra

Professional Quick-Drying High-Gloss Build-Up Varnish

Epifanes PP Varnish Extra is a professional-grade, fast-drying, high-gloss build-up varnish formulated with alkyd resin and isocyanate for superior hardness, flow and durability. Designed for rapid film formation, efficient grain filling and outstanding adhesion, this varnish creates a strong, clear foundation for both interior and exterior varnish systems.

Highly resistant to water, alcohol and aggressive household chemicals, it delivers excellent abrasion resistance and flexibility — making it suitable for use on working woods such as masts, spars and other components subject to movement. As a sealer, it performs exceptionally on oily timbers including teak and iroko, helping stabilise the substrate and promoting superior topcoat adhesion.

PP Varnish Extra incorporates a high-quality UV filter, however due to limited long-term UV capacity it is recommended that exterior applications be finished with 2–3 coats of Epifanes Polyurethane Clear Gloss/Satin, Epifanes PU Speedcoat, or Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish for maximum gloss retention and weather protection.

Field of Use
  • Build-up and grain-filling varnish for new work on bare solid wood and plywood
  • Sealer and isolating coat on oily tropical wood types
  • Interior finishing for joinery, doors, cabinetry and furniture
  • Maintenance and repair of existing clear two-component varnish systems
  • Suitable for all wooden surfaces above the waterline
